What is FERTIGATION?
Fertigation
word derived from the word fertilization and irrigation. In fertigation,
fertilization and irrigation process is given simultaneously to the plants.
Fertigation belong to the group of hydroponic crop production without the use
of soil. Generally, only a few types of plants suitable for planting only
fertigation method, including tomatoes, chillies, cucumbers, eggplant, melons
and strawberries.
By using the method of fertigation, plant operators can avoid them from catching diseases such as Pythium root, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia and bacterial wilt disease that mostly brought by land. In addition, the crop can be grown anywhere as long as enough light for photosynthesis and have a place to park polybag.
The method used in the drip fertigation solution capable of supplying water and fertilizer to crops effectively without waste. Water and fertilizer solution given regularly every day. Fertilizer solution that contains all the nutrients for the needs of the tree is given directly to the plant roots.
Technology is the most practical fertigation made under Rain Protection Structure (SPH) to prevent the crops grown are not easily infected by any disease whether the disease leaves, shoots and fruit caused by rain splash. Apart from protecting the crops from diseases, SPH also prevents fertilizer solution to be too thin trees due to rain and cause affected tree growth and yield decline.
